On inpatient wards, we have a general sense of overall superstition over the dynamics of patient flux. I had a funny conversation with my senior resident. Most interestingly was what she said after we aggressively knocked on wood to ensure a quiet day. "I'm not superstitious! Just a little 'stitious."
